Comment From A Follower

The following is not a post of my own, it is a recent comment from a follower of the blog. Rather than it be lost at the bottom of some page I think it deserves a post, as I believe the commentors opinion is one which others will strongly agree and says it all.

(the comment has been moderated slightly as I have better things to spend money on, other than lawyers bills, replying to claims of defamation!)

Richard,

Thank you for your hard work and diligence in keeping an eye on Lifecote and Steele’s business activities – the public at large and the industry need to know what this guy is up to. He has got away with shameful activities by remaining behind a smokescreen of anonymity and by bullying individuals who tried to stand up to him.

He must indeed rue the day he started damproofinblog as a tool to defame his competitors, con consumers into thinking he was an independent blog and as a way of getting back at those who had beaten him in court – in the only way he knows – by lying about them.

The way he writes about consumer risk, as if he cares about customers is shocking; having the cheek to talk about trading standards approving the DPA, financial connections to the energy saving trust, guarantees, business establishment, reputations and training, when he and Lifecote fail every test he tells consumers to set – at every level, is cynical and utterly disgraceful.

Trying to ‘pass off’ and thus gain financial benefit, from the efforts of talented and hardworking people like the PCA and now GPI is a measure of how low this character is. Just imagine for a moment if his passing off was allowed to stand? What will his customers think after he has let them down in the same way Lifecote has avoided those CCJ’s and he has gloated that “not a penny will you get”?

The reputation of other honest and reputable companies would be tarnished by his actions in using a name deliberately designed to confuse the consumer. Thus he intends to profit from their efforts and then cause damage to their chances of gaining business in the future; eroding consumer confidence in the previously trusted, genuine brand which is GPI.

The truth is, he needs help to get past his hatred of his betters – I can honestly say I have never in all my years come across a sadder case than his. It is hard to pity him though, as he’s so very aggressive and bitter. A fraction of the time and effort he has put into acting like an idiot, spent instead on positive relation building and good business practice, would have reaped great benefit for him and his innocent franchisees.  What does he do instead? He turns on past suppliers and allies as soon as they are of no immediate use

Well done Richard Johnson – you have the thanks of very many damp-proofing specialists across the country – PCA and none PCA members.  You deserve a medal for consumer protection – keep it up please.
